If you chose to include a geotextile membrane, the permeable landscape membrane sheet goes down first and acts as the foundation for your greenhouse structure, while the plastic grid provides support for the soil that will go over it. All of this together makes for a sturdy and reliable base for your greenhouse.

Protecting your garden

Greenhouse bases are an ideal way to protect your building and floor, as well as the contents, keeping them well aired and dry, due to being lifted slightly off the ground. The base provides a solid foundation for your greenhouse for longevity, all of this is important for preventing building joint stresses and movements and causing structural damage.

The grid bases can also be used as ground grid matting to protect paths, lawns and driveways. Vehicles and foot traffic can pass over them without any movement, preventing your grass from being ruined and helping to keep gravel neat and tidy.

Our greenhouse bases comply with sustainable-urban-drainage-solutions (S.U.D.S) regulations, which means you can be confident that your base is up to code.

Our high-strength plastic base product has passed all necessary testing, so that we can be confident in supplying you with a product I that will withstand all conditions it may face.

The recycled plastic material is injection moulded, which means that it’s made from a blend of various polymers, that we’ve tested over the years to perfect the blend to give the grid incredible strength and flexibility. Its UV-stable too, and so it will not fade or break down over the period you’ll need it to perform for, so you don’t have to worry about replacements or repairs on your greenhouse base in the near or even quite long term future. We expect these to outlast 25 years plus.
